Advertising Design

Throughout the years, I have designed several conceptual ideas for a variety of outdoor and print media advertising campaigns during the course of my Bachelor’s and Graduate level studies.. Below is a compilation of the best concepts I’ve developed.

KamaSutra

This project’s concept was to promote the products for KamaSutra without falling into the vulgar aspects of sexuality. The challenge was to design the campaign that could subtly convey the idea of pleasure in a graceful manner appealing to the eye. In order to achieve this, I used a visually appealing image accompanied by the textual portion to emphasize the overall concept.

Public Transportation – Train

The campaign promoting the use of the train, known as Tren Urbano in Puerto Rico, as a means of public transportation is tailored to emphasize the benefits of using the service. The first advertisement conveys the concept of saving money spent on filling up the car with gas, the second ad portrays the idea of taking advantage of extra time to catch up on studying and the last one is focused on showing that taking the train will have you get to class early, despite that it can be boring to be the first one there.

2012 Plebiscite Campaign for Puerto Rico:

During the year 2012, there was an election in Puerto Rico for the people to decide which political status they were most in favor for the future of the island. The options to choose from were: statehood, independence or remain as a commonwealth. The idea of this project was to convey the benefits of each political status without portraying the usual negative connotation of each political party.  These designs were created for the campaign to be displayed on billboards.

I Love NY Campaign

For this project, I chose to highlight one of the many reasons I particularly love about New York: diverse ways of transportation. Therefore, I chose to use the image of pedestrians walking; if you’ve been to NYC you know that walking is the best way to get around, but also quickly learn that there are many different levels of speed to pedestrian walking! The other image I chose to use was one of the popular tourist rides you can see a lot around the city which is the tricycle with the two-passenger carriage. The headline reads: “Travel at the velocity of a New Yorker” in a font style that emphasizes movement.

2010 Senior Project – El Coquí Criollo Restaurant

For my undergraduate senior project, we had to choose a business and develop the full concept of it, including advertisement and other promotional aspects aligned with the business. My project was centered on the idea of an authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine restaurant, to which I named “El Coquí Criollo”. I developed the logo & stationery, restaurant mock designs, menus, uniform, table setting, advertising and website. These were the two different advertising campaigns, one centered on the concept of nostalgic dining and the other based on the Taíno ancestry of the Puerto Rican culture.
